TreeSize

March 21st, 2004

Ever had a full hard disk? And ever wanted a tool that told you what directories are the biggest, so you can start deleting there? And ever been frustrated because Windows didn't provide this? I know I've been. And now I've accidently found TreeSize. Another tiny victory!

I've been using JDiskReport (http://www.jgoodies.com/freeware/jdiskreport/index.html) for that purpose for quite some time now. Swing does not suck, it isn't slow, and it /is/ useable in real applications, here's the proof.

No matter how hard I tried, I could find no reason for people to create software and then give it out for free. It costs hell of time to develop something, why not sell it? There must be some reason. Brian

Check out DiskView - http://www.diskview.com It plugs into Windows Explorer, and the UI is simply stunning.
