The Venice Project is now Joost

Sylvain Wallez: The Venice Project is now Joost This is a bit of a disappointment. "The Venice Project" had a air of mystery and a hint of "something's happening here!". The first connotation I have with "Joost" is "Joost mag het weten", which is Dutch for "I don't have the answer to your question, and I honestly don't care about it either". In the mean time, I'm still curious about whether TV-over-IP is a valid model. In my experience, the most social value from TV comes from talking about it the day after. If everybody chooses her own content, a lot of this human interaction will get lost. I wonder if they can overcome this obstacle. Another problem I see is that TV in most cases is a consume-only device. People switch on the TV, and they expect the content to flow into their eyes. If they have to actively choose the content, this ease-of-use is also lost. Is there a zap button in Joost? Time will tell, I guess.
