Speed
April 29th, 2004
This morning's commute's speed. Yup, that's average speed, in km/h. Not including the time spent waiting for traffic lights, but including the time spent slowing down before and speeding up after a red light. If you would've told me this two months ago, I would've laughed at you in the face. Oh, yes, that's on a bicycle.

April 21st, 2008 at 10:17 PM Hehe...enjoy your performance until you (finally) receive the Swiss wine. I've bought the bottles, just need to find a box, go to the post office and fill a million export forms telling them that I'm not a terrorist, that you're not one either and that any radioactivity found in the package is due to Mother Earth doing its job ;-)
April 21st, 2008 at 10:17 PM Congrats! Although I can hardly see the numbers...is that 27? Looks like your still pretty happy with your bicycle. :)
April 21st, 2008 at 10:17 PM Ooh, so you stop for red lights. That is rather exceptional for people on a bike, isn't it?
April 21st, 2008 at 10:17 PM When the red lights are securing a highway (read: Singel, Boomsesteenweg, kaaien), one doesn't have much of a choice... And I hereby invite you to ride with me one morning. Then you can decide for yourself who is more dangerous to others: the bikers passing a red light on a silent crossroad, or the cars parking on bicycle paths, taking over at 5cm to your left (just to have to stop for a traffic jam 10 meters further), and ignoring bicycles alltogether when making a right-hand turn. To increase the fun, add wet metal manhole covers on 90° turns, and cobblestones with a 5cm level difference. Don't get me started on the asocial car-drivers and abominal Belgian bicycle-path-architects. Ooops, too late.
April 21st, 2008 at 10:17 PM Bertrand: it looks like you have to go through a lot more trouble sending me the wine, than I had to send you the tool... If you happen to meet the Belgian Orixo-boys (read:outherthought) in the near future, it might save you a lot of administrative trouble. I'm sure they pass by Antwerp once in a while. Let's just hope they don't drink it all by themselves ;-)
